I'm back

I don't think anyone reads this blog anymore, but I'm going to write on the wall anyway. It'll give me something to do...since my life isn't busy enough. (haha) Lots has happened since the last time I posted. I have a neice...Haley. I have been married for two years tomorrow. In three days I will be a fourth year surgery resident...starting with torture of Harborview trauma.

Update...etc.

Well, it is December 29th, almost 2 months since I updated my blog. Things have been quite busy. Luke moved to Seattle right before Thanksgiving. Then, I had a week of vacation and we went to Chelan. We played pinochle, did a little logging, ate turkey, and played with the Wii! :O) Luke has moved into my condo and I've moved in with one of my fellow interns, Amanda, who has a two-bedroom apartment. Now I am rotating at Harborview Medical Center in the ER. It is a busy rotation...lots of crazy trauma cases. I am getting lots of practice drawing blood and putting in IVs. I will be happy to get back to Virginia Mason. :)
I hope all of you had a great Christmas and enjoy the rest of the year!

Luke fixed my computer!!!
It was awesome having Miranda here for a week...I miss having her as a roommate. :( We did some scenic driving and hiking, went out to eat, and spent some quality time watching HGTV! It was fun...

Luke came to visit last week- it was good to spend time with him after not seeing him for 2 months. I love him. He is going to move out here soon!

Well, I have to be at work at 6am tomorrow...so good night!

I think my computer is dead...

For the Moments I Feel Faint

Am I at the point of no improvement?
What of the death I still dwell in?
I try to excel but I feel no movement
Can I be free of this unreleasable sin?

Never underestimate my Jesus
You're telling me that there's no hope
I'm telling you, you're wrong
Never underestimate my Jesus
When the world around you crumbles
He will be strong

I throw up my hands
"Oh, the impossibilties"
Frustrated and tired, where do I go from here?
Now I'm searching for the confidence I've lost so willingly
Overcoming these obstacles is overcoming my fears

I think I can't, I think I can't
But, I think you can, I think you can
I think I can't, I think I can't
But, I think you can, I think you can

Gather my insufficiencies and place them in Your hands
Place them in Your hands
Place them in Your hands

Life with Jesus is so much better

"Thou poor, afflicted, tempted soul,
With fears, and doubts, and tempests tossed.
What if the billows rise and roll,
And dash thy ship, it is not lost;
The winds and waves and fiends my roar,
But Christ will bring thee safe on shore.
The winds and waves and fiends my roar,
But Christ will bring thee safe on shore.

What ails those eyes bedewed with tears?
Those laboring sighs that heave thy breast?
Those oft repeated, broken prayers?
Dost thou not long for Jesus' rest?
And can the Lord pass heedless by,
And see a mourning sinner die?
And can the Lord pass heedless by,
And see a sad and mourning sinner die?

I love this hymn and scripture comparing the hope of heaven with this life below. I often feel that I could compare my life to that of the disciples- tossed and blown about with trials, doubts, and fears. I long for rest, my prayers are broken, I cry and I doubt the goodness, love, and sovereignty of the God and Creator of the universe who loves me more than I will ever know. Alhough I am weary, broken, dejected, and tired- Jesus will not, He cannot, pass me by. He has saved me, and although it may feel as if he has left me alone to fight the storms; He is there sustaining me and perhaps will soon pass by and calm the storms or take me to heaven to be with Him forever.
