Shakespeare in the Park

Friday night Miranda, Jen, Amanda and I saw "The Knight of the Burning Pestle" in Reedy River Park in downtown Greenville. There were several hilarious... and many just plain weird parts... with a few Monty Pythonesque tributes thrown in. :) We had a splendiferous time chillin' in the park!

if you want a reality check... visit the psychiatry hospital

My psychiatry rotation is moving along splendid-illy... Four more days in the hospital- then the tests. It is amazing how differently I look at people these days. I pay more attention to people's mannerisms and speech patterns. It is much easier to pick up on little idiosyncrasies and personality traits after watching strangers for a little while. Quite interesting. Also, talking to so many hopeless people day after day, who would rather be dead than to have to go on living, has increased my gratefulness for the hope I have. Sometimes, I feel like my life is difficult and that I would rather not have to deal with it. But, at least I know that my suffering has a purpose!

For I consider that the sufferings of this present time
are not worth comparing with the glory
that is to be revealed to us.
Come let us return to the LORD;
for he has torn us, that he may heal us;
He has struck us down, and he will bind us up.

It was another great weekend of relaxation and fun. I spent Friday night home alone with Pepper- Miranda was on call in the hospital. I watched some TV, played some guitar, and learned a little psych. I am so excited- I have wanted to learn to play the guitar since I was 15 and I am finally making the time to do it. Now the tips of my fingers are quite sore, but I'm having fun and I still remember some of the stuff I learned 6 years ago!
Saturday: I spent the day cleanin', chillin' and workin' out at the gym. Then, Jen, Miranda, and I went to dinner and a movie. All in all, it was a lovely Saturday!
Sunday: Church-yea!! I really like my church- I have gotten to know a lot of fun people there already... and the teaching is great! Sunday night Miranda, Jameson, and I went to a Shane and Shane concert- they're awesome!!!!
Now, I am in the middle of another week in the psychiatric hospital. I am enjoying this rotation more that I expecte- although it can be VERY stressful emotionally. It has given me more time to enjoy my life and get it straightened out a little bit more! I hope you all are having a wonderful week!

This week has been going fine- I am now working in the psychiatric hospital with a different doctor. So far, I have enjoyed meeting new patients and talking to them. Most of the issues they are dealing with are very difficult and make mine pale in comparison.
I guess we all have issues...
jus' gotta learn how to deal with them-
and that we are not capable of solving our problems
on our own- and others can't solve them for us.
