Another Monday

I started a new rotation today- Radiology! I am looking forward to learning to read X-rays, CT-scans, etc... Also, I will have shorter days...which means I will have more time to take care of other things. Like, studying for boards and applying to residency... and getting ready to leave for Seattle in 4 weeks!!!

Anyway, I need to do some studying!

This is my last week of pediatric surgery, and it has been fun! This week our upper-level resident is on vacation; so, the intern and I are "running the show." It is crazy-- good for me because I get more responsibility and experience!

I have lots of stuff to occupy my time... residency applications and studying for Step 2 being the major players. I have several meetings this week and next to ask for advice and letters of recommendation! Scary and exciting. Also, I am trying desperately to complete my personal statement...the more advice I get the harder it is... but the suggestions have been very good! Maybe with some help I will totally finish it this week... I hope!

hi all...yes i am still alive. very alive. Here is what's happening:

I am in the middle of a Pediatric Surgery elective, which means lots of fun and lots of time in the hospital. I am seeing cute kids and interesting surgeries and pathology.

Still trying to study for Step 2 of the boards- I'm not finding a lot of time to study- but I need to.

Then, there is residency applications... I am definitely going to do surgery. Pediatric surgery is awesome (it requires another 2 years of training after the 5 year general surgery residency). Anyway, I am working on my application and interviews will be coming up this fall. It is a pretty time-consuming, exciting, and stressful process...
