Today, after church, Dad and I took a hike up behind the house on a search for this year's Christmas tree... After hiking up halfway up the mountain and along the property line, we chopped down a lovely tree and carried it home. After erecting it in the living room, we began to untangle the Christmas lights... in the middle of trying to get the lights working... the wind blew so hard that the power was knocked out so plans rapidly changed and we were forced to play cribbage by candlelight for awhile and make s'mores over the fireplace. When we were really having fun, the power came back on... so,we headed down to the workshop and made Christmas presents for awhile. We will have to decorate the tree tomorrow!

Home in Washington
After a lovely trip to Washington DC, Jen, Miranda, and I returned to Columbia Tuesday evening. Wednesday morning they left for home to spend time with their families; and I spent all day taking care of things around the house and such. It took all day Thursday to fly Seattle. The flights all went well... and I read a whole book on the way from SC to WA. It was great!
Forrest flew in later that night after I had already gone to bed... Friday Dad, Mom, Forrest, and I went Christmas shopping in Seattle. Then, we returned to Uncle Michaels and Aunt Susie's house for a delicious dinner. After dinner, the "adults" played pinochle, Forrest played on his computer, and I dozed on the couch.
Saturday, Mom, Dad, and I headed over the Cascade mountains on our way home. There was snow on the mountains, although it was colder in SC when I left than it is here! We arrived home this afternoon... it is good to be here.
Merry Christmas!!!

Its Christmas Time!!
The semester is over!!! Yeah!! Our last exam was Friday morning, and it was awful... but it is over!!!
After the exam, Jen, Miranda, and I drove up to Maryland to visit for a couple days. We are staying at her friend Page's apartment. We got here Friday night and wandered around the streets of Annapolis and saw a bunch of sailboats with Christmas lights shining in the harbor! It was beautiful downtown with all the lights and shops downtown.
Saturday, Page took us downtown D.C. on the Metro and we got to see lots of the sights of the Capitol. We took a tour of the Capitol building, and the guide thought that we were French. :) Then, we also saw the Lincoln Memorial and Washington Monument. It was fun being in Washington for the first time!!!
