The Random Phone Call

As I sat at the table diligently (or as diligently as possible on a beautiful afternoon such as this) studying neoplasms, the telephone rang. I picked up. . .

"Hello!"
Lady's voice [rapid and tense, 28-30ish]: "DON'T SAY THAT. DON'T SAY WE'RE SLIPPING AWAY FROM EACH OTHER!!!"
Me [Very confused- wondering what's wrong with saying 'hello']: "what?!huh/"
*pause*
Me [still confused]: "excuse me?!!"
Lady [very nice and apologetic]: 'I'm so, so sorry... I must have dialed the wrong number. I'm so sorry'
Me [unable to control myself]: *laugh* "uh, that's ok" *not sure what to say*
Lady [nice and sweet]: "Well, at least you got a laugh out of it." *small laugh*
Me [as she hangs up]: "sorry. . .hope it works out."

Isn't that the most random phone call? I think she's right, though. "I feel like we are slipping away from each other" is such a lame excuse. Don't ever say that. Relationships aren't passive...if you're "slipping away" from each other its always because of a deeper problem (i.e. bad communication, lack of committment). So, beware of those who use "we are slipping away" as an excuse for ending a relationship. They need to find a real, legitimate reason and/or to learn to deal with issues in relationships instead of making excuses.

Its monday morning!

Then, I have the whole rest of the afternoon to study at Barnes and Noble before bible study at 7:00. Its going to be a wonderful day!

What is that smell???

Today, while searching for wheat germ, I discovered a bloated, putrid can of tuna fish in my kitchen cupboard. It reeked of rotten flesh and was infested with maggots. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!! I controlled my retching sufficienty to pitch in the trash. After disinfecting the cupboard and a few hours of Yankee Candle therapy, our lovely yellow kitchen reeks no more!
