Some days medical school is exciting and interesting...other days are filled with hours of studying. Neither that fun, nor that exciting. Sometimes it is discouraging to have a whole afternoon "free," when you know that all that means is "free to study."
"And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you." 1 Peter 5:10
